At Medina County Federal Credit Union, member service is very important to us. As we continue to improve and expand our services and delivery channels, we recognize that our members need and desire to preserve their privacy and confidentiality.

This privacy disclosure is being issued to comply with the provisions of the Gramm-Lech-Biley Act governing the privacy of consumer financial information. The following statement affirms our continued commitment to preserving member confidentiality.

Information We Collect

We gather nonpublic personal information about our members, including information gathered over the Internet for specific business purposes only.

We collect nonpublic personal information about you from the following sources:

Information we receive from you on applications or other forms such as your name, address, social security number, assets and income information about your transactions with us or others; and information we receive from a consumer-reporting-agency, such as your credit history.

We do not disclose any nonpublic personal information about our members or former members to anyone, except as permitted or required by law.

Information we disclose as permitted by law

Some examples of instances when we may disclose nonpublic personal information about our members or former members include:

  • To provide you with products and services that you have requested;
  • To complete or verify a transaction;
  • To manage member accounts, transactions and records;
  • To investigate possible fraud or criminal activity;
  • To comply with laws and regulations; and when you provide us with your permission.

Sometimes in order to provide you with better service, we contract with third party service providers (for example-check printing companies.) We require that our third party providers honor our members rights to privacy.

We may disclose all of the information we collect, as described above to companies that perform marketing services on our behalf or to other financial institutions with whom the credit union has joint marketing agreements. Medina County Federal Credit Union does not provide our members' non public personal information to mailing lists or any other marketing agency other than for our use to market Medina County Federal Credit Union products.

Confidentiality And Security

Safe guarding our members' privacy is also very important to the credit union. We at Medina County Federal Credit Union, have adopted standards that hold our employees responsible for maintaining and preserving member confidentiality. The credit union restricts access to nonpublic personal information about you to those employees who have a specific business purpose for using it. Our employees are trained on the importance of maintaining confidentiality and member privacy. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations and leading industry practices to safeguard your nonpublic personal information.

Effective Date

This Privacy Notice is effective as of August 1, 2014. We reserve the right to change our Privacy Statement, and if we do so, we will notify you.


Security Information

Medina County Federal Credit Union is committed to protecting the privacy of its members. In general you can visit us on the World Wide Web without disclosing to us who you are or revealing any information about yourself. There are several areas however that will collect information about you, and we want you to know how we handle that information

If you visit our website, Medina Federal Credit Union collects and stores information on the domain you use to access our website, the internet address of the site from which you liked directly to the site, and the date and time of your visit. The information is used to measure the number of visitors to the various pages on our site to better server our membership.

If you send an email, we collect and store personally identifying information in order to process your e-mail, form or application. This information is not sold to any third parties. Due to the volume of email activity, these messages are deleted after they are answered or completed.

If you visit a secure site, such as home banking, you will be asked for personal identification numbers which will give you access to the member only sections of our website. This information enable Medina County Federal Credit Union to regulate entry to the member only portions of our website and to measure member usage. Any identifying information gathered is not sold to third parties.

If you link to anlther site from any of our pages, you are leaving our site pages and we cannont be held responsible for any information that may be gathered at a linked site.
